Hello again, from all of us here in Sanghlaburi! This week we saw the inaugural ‘Sangkhlaburi Cinema Club’. Where we set out one of our volunteer houses like a mini-cinema! Projector, check. White screen, check. Popcorn, double-check!
After much deliberation (25 people trying to decide what movie to watch can take a few minutes) the guys from the Thailand Experience group decided on ‘Zom-Rom-Com’ Shaun of the Dead. Everyone had seen it before, apart from our tour guide Aow, who described it as ‘ting-tong’, which is a Thai word that means ‘crazy’!
It was a much deserved chill-out night for the group that had worked so hard during their project week.
But project week had finished and it was now time to explore and see what Sangkhlaburi had to offer. On Friday night the group visited a festival on the other side of the lake where a Buddhist ceremony was taking place, as well as visiting market stalls, tasting food, playing games, Muay Thai boxing and some partying afterwards too!
Then it was onto ‘The Nature Club’ on the volunteers free day. Where they experienced zip-lining, Zorbing, or just relaxed near the beautiful lake there.
Well, if you work hard, it’s only right you get to play hard too!
