Hello again, from Sangkhlaburi!

Another action packed week for the Thailand Experience group where jungle trekking, bamboo rafting and tubing down rivers was on the menu.

After working hard during the project week, it was time for some relaxation. So the group hit up the perfect place to chill out in Sangkhlaburi – Songalia river. Everyone took up the opportunity to float downstream in a giant rubber rings. But, it wouldn’t be Sangkhlaburi if food wasn’t involved. So while the group drifted along the river we tucked into the local cuisine of papaya salad and fried fish.

With batteries now fully recharged, it was time for the 2 day jungle trek.

The first day trek is a 16km adventure through the wild. The group took to it like they were hardened explorers. But even explorers need to refuel, so they took a break in the epic jungle caves to have lunch. The second day is a shorter hike up to serene waterfalls.

A few days later we were sad to see a great group leave, as they headed off to the final installment of their experience…. Koh Pha Ngan. But before they left they still managed to cram in boat trips to see the Sunken Temple, bamboo rafting and visiting a local festival with games and music.

It’s amazing what you can do during one week in rural Thailand!
