If you are reading this there is a good chance that you probably already have a much needed and highly valuable skill.
Being able to speak, read and write English is an amazing skill that can help transform the lives of underprivileged children in Thailand.
Children in Thailand have to learn English to a satisfactory level before they are accepted into university. Unfortunately, although Thai teachers do a good job of teaching them written English, almost none of the students come into contact with native English speakers. This means they will often not know the proper pronunciation of words as well as not having the confidence to have a conversation with English speakers.
Even though the children may perform well academically, if the school is too poor to employ a native English speaker it could result in the children missing out on higher education.
Volunteer teaching specifically addresses this problem – and by putting English speakers into poor schools you can have a profound influence on the children’s lives.
