Last week we had a fantastic group of young people from Wanganui school who came to Sangkhlaburi for 6 days to help renovate and improve an old people’s home around 20 minutes from the main town.
On their final day the group visited the remote village of Sanpanrai to spend some time with the kids there. The kids were really energetic and loved to play and learn! The team played lots of different games with the kids such as ‘duck, duck, goose’ and ‘what’s the time mr wolf’. Further to this the group had a great experience teaching the children some basic english.
Ignoring the heat and the odd upset tummy, the group were awesome working incredibly hard every day and showing a real determination to finish the tasks they’d been set – amazing what can be achieved in just a few days and the positive impact on people’s lives through hard work, determination and more than a few laughs on the way, the group did a fantastic job and managed to install handrails to help the residents get around, build a fence that the residents had asked for along with many other improvements helping to make a better place to live for the residents of the home.
Thank you team Wanganui!
